3M corporation recognizes bounce for creative innovation and excellence
Greenville's the bounce agency has received another national accolade for its work on behalf of the Greenville Literacy Association. This time, the agency's breakthough work was recognized by global giant 3M.
More than a year ago, 3M began marketing a unique vinyl material capable of being custom printed and then installed over virtually any rough wall or textured surface.
The competition, which was judged by representatives from 3M as well as the Society for Environmental Graphic Design and the Small Business Administration, evaluated installations of this new material based upon aesthetic appeal, use of space, professionalism of the installation and impact of the wrap on the end user. The award recognized both bounce and Greenville's TPM, who printed and installed the work.
"It's really rewarding to get this kind of recognition," said John McDermott, President and Creative Director at bounce. "Over the past couple of years, we've been able to get very creative in our work with GLA. This material from 3M opened up another door for us, and our creative team walked right through it."
Hundreds of entries were received, and 25 finalists were selected. bounce's winning entry was a unique "fountain wrap" installed at Falls River Park, and encouraged people to participate in GLA's primary annual fundraiser, Really Good, Really Big, Really Cheap Book Sale. As part of the award, GLA will receive a check for $2,000 from 3M.
"This is pretty cool, having 3M rate our work the best in the country," said bounce Associate Creative Director Stephen Childress. "But even better, the $2,000 contribution adds to the $116,000 the book sale raised. That means GLA will be able to reach a little further and change even more lives right here in our community."
The award was presented to bounce by representative of 3M and TPM.
